Tim Townsend was a drawing major at University of Central Florida and went on from there to work at Image Comics (Extreme Studios) as an assistant inker to Dan Panosian and Art Thibert.  After about 2 years there he broke away and swam back upstream to Marvel.

He landed The Uncanny X-Men fairly quickly and has been on that and currently The New X-Men ever since, about 8 years.
